1.1.3. It is not our general policy to request deposits from customers when booking in their dogs for a groom; however, for those who miss appointments we will use our discretion to apply a £15 deposit which will be deducted from the groom price at the time of the appointment.

1.2. We will call you when your dog is ready to collect and expect customers to arrive within a reasonable time. We will use our discretion to charge an additional £5 for every 30 minutes  waiting time.

1.3 We expect all customers to sign a declaration at each appointment to state the dog is fit and well; they are not aggressive and that you agree to these terms and conditions.

  1. Dog Well-Being

2.1 The welfare of your dog is paramount to our service. We reserve the right to refuse to treat any dog. There are some circumstances in which will will not groom your dog:

  • We will not groom your dog if we believe them to be unwell, injured or if they are distressed during the groom. It is the responsibility of the dog owner to ensure that the dog is healthy and fit to be groomed.
  • We recommend that puppies are not groomed until a vet advises it is safe to do so. Please visit your vet before bringing puppies to see us.
  • We will not groom pregnant dogs due to the stress this may cause and the risks involved.
  • If your dog has recently been microchipped; please seek vet advice for when to have your dog groomed (we recommend a minimum of 48 hours).
  • We will not groom any dogs that are listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 1997 or any subsequent amendments.

2.2 If your dog has a matted coat, we will do our best to groom your dog and make them comfortable. However, in the interests of welfare, it may be required to Clip (shave) your dog. We will contact you via telephone to seek permission; if this is refused, you will be invited to collect your dog. We understand that shaving a dog is not the style that owners desire; however, Paw Couture will not compromise on dog welfare. In line with legal regulations; we will not Clip your dog for more than 15 minutes; with this in mind, you may be invited to a follow up appointment at an appropriate time to continue the groom. There may be additional charges incurred to groom a matted coat.

2.3 We recommend that all dogs are up to date with vaccinations before visiting us.

2.4 We ask that all customers treat any incidents of fleas before coming into Paw Couture; if we discover fleas while grooming your dog; we reserve the right to charge an additional £20 to bath your dog and to disinfect the premises.

2.5 If your pet requires immediate, emergency veterinary attention while at Paw Couture; we will take them to the closest available vet and contact you at the first available opportunity. The owner is responsible for all costs associated with veterinary treatment.

2.6 Our staff have been trained on the use of ultrasonic toothbrushing for dogs. This is a painless treatment which should cause minimum stress to your dog. However, due to the nature of the process; there is a slight risk that injuries may occur. As a result of this, we recommend all dogs visit the vet for dental check-ups before bringing their dog for teeth cleaning to reduce risk of injury.

  1. Staff Well-Being

3.1 We take the safety of our staff very seriously. For this reason, we may feel the need to place a muzzle on your dog during the groom; if we feel the safety of our employees is compromised; we will contact you to collect your dog.
